ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has entered an interesting phase. In Group A, New Zealand and India have won both their matches and made it to the semi-finals, while the semi-finalists in Group B will be decided after the matches to be held on February 28 and March 1.
In the ICC mega event hosted by Pakistan, New Zealand and India have made it to the semi-finals with two victories each, defeating their rivals Pakistan and Bangladesh in Group A.
Hosts and defending champions Pakistan and Bangladesh have lost both their matches and failed to make it to the knockout round and have been eliminated from the event. Now both teams will participate in the formal match at Pindi Stadium on Thursday, in which the third and fourth positions in the group will also be decided.
In Group A, the first and second positions will be decided in the match between India and New Zealand in Dubai on March 2.
On the other hand, there is an interesting situation in Group B. After the match played at Pindi Stadium on Tuesday was washed out by rain, Australia and South Africa have got one point each and both teams have collected three points each after playing both their matches. South Africa defeated Afghanistan and Australia defeated England in their first match.
On Wednesday, England and Afghanistan will face each other at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in the same group. Having failed in their first matches, these teams will try to defeat each other while struggling to reach the next stage.
However, on February 28, there will be a crucial match between Australia and Afghanistan in Lahore. In case of victory, Australia will make it to the semi-finals with 5 points.
The other semi-finalist team of this group will be decided in the match between South Africa and England in Karachi on March 1.
It should be noted that the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy will be played on March 4 in Dubai and the second semi-final on March 5 in Lahore.
If India wins the semi-final, the final will be held in Dubai on March 9, otherwise in Lahore.
