Bank robberies usually involve cash or gold, but recently several Chinese banks have been the target of an unusual type of robbery in which soil from pots around bank buildings is being stolen.
Several online markets in China are selling small bags of bank soil as a get-rich-quick scheme. A bag can cost up to 888 yuan ($120), and demand for this unusual product is growing steadily.
Some sellers claim that this omen has a “999.999 percent success rate” for bringing wealth, while others record the process of collecting the soil to guarantee the bank soil.
