Water is life-giving, but its excess can also kill a person. Last week, 59-year-old Sean O’Neill, a resident of Dublin, Ireland, went to the hospital for a check-up.
The medical staff told him to drink plenty of water. Sean drank six glasses, his health soon deteriorated, and a sudden heart attack took him to the next world.
Doctors say never drink five or six glasses of water or any liquid at a time, because excess water causes a decrease in sodium in the blood. In this state, water reaches the brain and starts swelling it.
Since the brain is confined in a hard skull, if it does not swell further, it causes the whole body to go into spasm. In this state, a heart attack or stroke attacks a person. This condition is called “Hyponatremia” in medical terms.
According to modern research, the famous martial arts actor Bruce Lee also died from this condition.
