People with bowel cancer can live longer by doing this one thing

A new study suggests that exercise may help colon cancer survivors live longer.

Researchers reported in the journal Cancer that they found that colon cancer patients who were very physically active had a three-year survival rate that was higher than the general population.

This new information could help patients understand that factors they can control can have a meaningful impact on their long-term health.

For the study, his team pooled results from two National Cancer Institute-sponsored trials of treatments for stage 3 cancer, Justin Brown, lead researcher and director of the Cancer Metabolism Program at Louisiana State University, said in a news release.

Nearly 2,900 participants in these trials reported their physical activity levels, which the researchers analyzed.
