A University of British Columbia graduate has returned a book he borrowed from his university library after 64 years.
University librarian Susan Parker said she received a package in January and when she opened it, she found a 1931 edition of Horace Keffert’s Camping and Woodcraft.
The book was borrowed from the library by then-student Robert Murray in 1960.
Susan Parker said in a university news release that most overdue books are returned anonymously. But the book has never been returned this late.
The book was accompanied by a letter from 83-year-old Robert Murray, along with a check for $70.
